Priorities

Keeping Quality of Life High and Taxes Low

Sang serves all City residents - from our most senior to our youngest in the community - and recognizes the necessary services to ensure a high quality of life. Sang will always be a strong advocate for the most efficient use of our City's taxpayer dollars. He will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community and ensure the necessary resources for vital services provided by our Police and Fire departments. While maintaining high quality City services, Sang will continue to thoroughly review budget items to remove waste.

Promoting Economic Development and Growth

As the son of small business owners, Sang intimately understands that our local businesses are not just the economic backbone of our City, but also comprised of fellow neighbors and members of our community. Strong local businesses help provide a favorable tax balance and a special value to the City of Fairfax. Sang will focus on both the recruitment and retention of businesses in our City.

Preserving our City's Character and Family-Friendly Environment

The City of Fairfax is a home for families. Sensible development with robust community input and discussion is important to preserve our City's character and family-friendly environment. Traffic and density are consistently among the biggest concerns for our residents, and these issues go hand-in-hand with our quality of life. Sang will always thoroughly review proposed projects to ensure that we grow responsibly and in a manner respectful of resident life.

A First-rate City School System

Sang is an active proponent of a strong City school system to ensure our students receive the highest quality education possible. Sang will continue to collaborate with the City School Board and ensure that the needs of our teachers and students are prioritized. During his first term on the City Council, Sang successfully reappropriated his Council salary to create youth robotics programs at Daniels Run and Providence elementary schools and Lanier Middle School. Sang also helped fully fund a mental health awareness and suicide prevention program at Fairfax High School. As a parent of young children, Sang personally understands the importance of our students' success.

Accountable and Dedicated Leadership

To Sang, being in office isn't about representing government to you, but rather representing you to government. A service academy graduate with nearly 20 years of service as a military officer, Sang understands and lives by a standard of accountability and servant leadership. As your Councilman, Sang proudly works for every resident of the City of Fairfax, and views serving you as a privilege.
